Opened on the 18th of October, 2013 (for the park only), Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park is a hanging garden located on top of the largest cruise terminal in Hong Kong. The size of this new attraction is 23,000 square meters approximately. Take a look at the 10 photos I took recently.
This hanging garden adopts the concept of hill (near the Kwun Tong end), city (middle) and water (facing the Victoria Harbor). It has sight platform, central lawn, fountain square, children oasis, specially arranged garden and flag-raising platform, etc. The intertwining pavements will lead you to different facilities, flowers and plants; whereas, the outer one is ideal for the 360 degree view that shows New Kowloon, Lei Yu Mun, Kwun Tong Refuge Harbor, Kowloon Bay and the Victoria Harbor.
Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park opens every day at 7:00am to 11:00pm. Entry is free. As the cruise terminal will be put into full service later, shops haven’t opened yet and the choice of transportation is limited. Visitors can take the mini bus no. 86 at Kowloon Bay MTR from Monday to Sunday or bus no. 5R that runs on Sunday and public holidays only, and picks up passengers at Nagu Tok Kok MTR and Kwun Tong MTR.
In Hong Kong, many shops open at around 11:00am. If you have nowhere to go in the morning, why not visit this hanging garden to have a walk, enjoy the 360 degree scenery and the breeze? After that, you can visit the big shopping malls nearby, for example, Mega Box and Telford Plaza at Kowloon Bay or APM at Kwun Tong or ride by MTR to some other attractions.
